News from ABC’s Tuesday upfront presentation:
“AKA Jessica Jones,” about a private detective (and former superhero) occupying the same universe as other Marvel comic book characters, is dead at ABC. Its creator, Melissa Rosenberg, is now behind ABC’s “Red Widow.”
With many hailing Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers” as the best on-screen use of The Hulk to date, a new “Hulk” series from Guillermo Del Toro (“Hellboy”) and David Eick (“Battlestar Galactica”) remains in development for next year's pilot season.
The Hulk delays remind me of what happened with Fox’s “Terra Nova,” which had to figure out how to churn out unconvincing CGI dinosaurs every week. After three movies worth of CGI Hulk, audiences may no longer be willing to settle for Roland Kickinger in Rachel Nichols’ Orion slave-girl makeup.
