Ambush Bug here. The below hour-plus long conversation took place between myself and my fellow @$$holes Matt Adler, Humphrey Lee, and our host Johnny Destructo of PoptardsGo.com as we talked about the film everyone is gabbing about…THE AVENGERS!!! And of course, we peppered in some extra special, sweet jack@$$$ery, as usual!

As an added bonus, a few of the @$$Holes who couldn’t make the podcast chimed in with their thoughts as well…

The Writing Rambler - I'm on my 3rd viewing and I've finally reached the point where management no longer removes me from the theater for indecent exposure when banner drops the "I'm always angry" line. It's insane how much fun I had watching this film. It had its flaws (my biggest nitpick being the Chitauri and their ID4 like fate) but they are easily forgiven because despite them this is arguably the best superhero film I've ever seen. The entire cast was on there A+ game and Whedon helmed this movie unbelievably. Every one of the Avengers was just a joy to watch on screen (with emphasis on every single scene stealing moment by the Hulk). Can’t say enough how much I loved it. The hype and the massive weekend box office numbers are well deserved.

Henry Higgins is My Homeboy - The thing is, it's not a perfect movie. Some characters (Maria Hill especially) were underutilized, some of the jokes fell flat, and the "alien" army was painfully generic. That doesn't change the fact that it is possibly one of the best comic book films ever produced. Every actor was a perfect representation of the characters, the fights were constantly creative and inventive, and the script was utterly brilliant. With one film, Whedon has surpassed almost every other director in the "super hero" genre and provided a superb film.

Looks for more of the Holes rambling about comics on Poptards and in future AICN COMICS columns!
