Well, I came across some very cool news the other day and I felt the need to tell you. Has nothing to do with the fact that I'm extremely underpaid! More that I'm a huge fan of Spike Jonze. Don't know if you've heard but his next project is in the works with us. It's a picture called "Benjamin Button." It's based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story. This thing has been around a while. Past interest includes Ron Howard. The basic premise is...a man turns 50 and begins to age backward. Complication comes when he falls in love with a 30 year old woman and must deal with their opposite directions. The execs are pretty excited about Spike and his vision for this film and this thing is on the fast track. Casting is eminent.
That's what I know for facts. Now, for rumors:
Charlie Kaufman is doing a rewrite of the script.
It's gonna be a LONG movie. It goes through his entire life(?)
The execs want big stars for the leads. Spike does too. Names being thrown around are...Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, John Travolta, and Bruce Willis, and Harrison Ford. Don't know how they can make those last three look younger than 40.
