Hey folks, Harry here with some purty images from LORD OF THE RINGS that came from something called STARFIX Magazine... I've never seen this mag, but they sure have some groovy pics here. Now, our information provider was confounded by how bright the blue was for the BLUE SCREEN... this is there because in all liklihood they will insert an image of the actual interior set, with all the actors in make up and furniture, etc... As for why the bright bright yellow? Well, light is perceived differently on various film stocks... while it is very very bright here... on film, it might very well be... much more subdued. Anyway... without further pontificating.... here's the images and the text that I was sent with them...
here are 4 exclusive pics of Hobbiton from Starfix mag. only theonering.net has published the page, but with no close-ups. the interesting point concerning those pix is... the bright colors of the hobbit doors!!! compositing or what? the blue door doesn't look like a screen... there's material details on the printing and if where so... why should the circle window be so bright-blue too? I made my best to respect the color balance of the pictures (that were obviously gone "postcard" like). anyway... is it the PJ pov for Hobbit houses (brighter than Lee's usual designs, even brighter than Irish pubs!)?
