Hey folks, Harry here with a report from a first timer in Columbus, Ohio who dutifully reported the coolness that his local paper reported yesterday. Well... It seems that the good folks of OH, will be playing welcome to the crew of TRAFFIC for at least a few days here and there. Hopefully we'll hear from you good Ohio folks about how that shooting goes, here's the report...
Hey Head Geek,
First-time poster here. You may or may not have come across this, but here goes. According to the local paper here in Columbus, OH, Michael Douglas and Steven Soderbergh will be spending three weeks in Ohio this May, shooting undisclosed scenes for the upcoming film Traffic.
Three days will be spent shooting in downtown Columbus, both exterior and interiors, and the rest will be shot in Cincinnati. No word yet on which other cast members will also be shooting, but the paper did report that Catherine Zeta-Jones will not be involved.
Apparently, the Ohio Film Commission and the Greater Cincinnati and National Kentucky Film Commission have been trying to bring more higher profile Hollywood productions to the area. I think this is a great film (at least for me, as an enormous Soderbergh fan) to have in the area.
Anyway, just a little tidbit, which at least lets us know that filming is already soon to begin in earnest. With the film in my backyard (so to speak), I'll try to snag whatever info I can for you and the site.
Take care, hope the bit was useful.
Here's a link to the article (don't worry, there's no spoiler-type info here):
You can call me Timbuktu, because that's where Ohio is in relation to Hollywood.
Later,
Timbuktu
