* We learn the fate of Craster victim Jon Snow very early in tonight’s episode, then we abandon whatever’s left of Snow and his fellow Night’s Watchers for the remainder of tonight’s episode. The Night’s Watch sits out next week’s episode as well. So it will be some time before we learn who or what snatched Craster’s abandoned son.
* If Theon Greyjoy, Craster and the Lannisters aren’t bringing enough incest to “Thrones,” add tonight another major character keen to leap into bed with a blood relative.
* Dany Targaryan and her dragons sit out tonight’s installment. (She’s back next week but still doesn’t get naked.)
* Robb Stark and Jamie Lannister are also absent this week. (Jamie stays gone next week but Robb makes a memorable entrance.)
* The stunning Natalie Dormer (“The Tudors”) joins the cast tonight as Queen Margaery. She cavorts nakedly. Dormer is someone many will very much enjoy seeing naked.
* 6’3” Gwendoline Christie joins the cast tonight as Renly Baratheon’s warrior Brienne. If the books describe her as homely, I think the TV version is pretty hot stuff.
* The episode ends with a great scene involving young Arya and her equally feisty companions.
* My favorite line of the week comes during an exchange with Tyrion that sounds like a lost scene from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”: “There are no goats out there!” I also like the way Tyrion breaks some bad news to Baelish.
Last week’s “Mad Men” – bathed in the shadow of the eight nurses Richard Speck slaughtered in Chicago on July 14, 1966 – filled Don’s fevered braub full of infidelity and murder and sent Sally scurrying beneath her stepgrandmother. Also, Joan sent Dr. Greg packing and a drunk Peggy found herself fretting about her cash-heavy handbag.

It reunites ABC’s “The Unusuals” stars Terry Kinney (“Oz”) and Adam Goldberg (“The Hebrew Hammer”) and co-stars Leelee Sobieski (“Eyes Wide Shut,” “Public Enemies”).
* “CSI Miami” closed out what may be its final season with a 1.7.
* A two-hour “GCB” gave that series a new low of 1.5, so that may not get a renewal next month.
* Last Sunday was pretty anemic generally. “The Amazing Race” won the night with a paltry 2.5 in the 18-49 demo.
