Nordling here.
Hey, I liked the first one, hated the second one even while begrudgingly admitting that it does have a kind of point, and I'm morbidly curious to what the third one... entails. (Sorry.)
We do know that apparently at some point there will be a 500-piece long human centipede, and that's a pretty difficult visual to swallow. (Sorry!) We know that Lawrence Harvey from the second film will return - whether as the original character or as some meta commentary as himself, no one knows. And, until yesterday, we believed that Dieter Laser would return as well.
That is, until Tom Six took to Twitter and proclaimed, "BREAKING NEWS: MY COMPANY WILL SUE ACTOR DIETER LASER!!! WORDWIDE PRESS RELEASE WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY" and then alleged that Laser refused to be a part of the movie until some script changes to Laser's liking took place. Laser for his part acknowledges this, saying in a press release:
I loved the script when it was told, got the contract and the promise to have the script in 4 to 6 weeks. When it arrived – half a year later and only after the official announcement – I didn’t like the realization at all, couldn’t identify with the character the way it was written and developed immediately and enthusiastically in a day and night marathon a version full of concrete and practical suggestions which would enable me to play the lead full throttle – same procedure as with Dr. Heiter – but this time it also would have had some unavoidable effects to the dramatic structure. That was too much for Tom and since he couldn’t live with my suggestions and I as a method actor couldn’t identify with his version, I told him that I couldn’t see any other way than that he would have to “change horses”. That’s it.
It's difficult to imagine what could have offended Laser's sensibilities, considering the subject matter we're dealing with here, but every actor wants to have at least some input on the story in some way. This will delay shooting until all of this gets sorted out, obviously. For now, we'll just have to wait... sometimes these things take time to come out, and your best bet is to grab a magazine or a book and not strain too hard. (Sorry!)
