Did I miss a day? I think I missed a day. But on the bright side I got my first full night’s sleep and somehow lost an afternoon to Mass Effect 3, so you can’t blame a geek for relaxing once in a while..
Today we take a little look at a behind the scenes shot from Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space. I don’t particularly subscribe to the “so bad it’s good” mentality and most of Wood’s movies are just plain bad bad, but there’s a reason Plan 9 stands out. There’s a passion to it that comes across even if you haven’t seen the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie. It’s hard to hate a movie that tries so very hard, but just doesn’t have the talent or money to make it.
There’s not as much a cult surrounding his other truly awful movies, like his hard to watch softcore ‘70s stuff, and there’s a reason for that, I think. What draws people to Plan 9 is its earnestness.
