Seth Rogen snagged the role of The Dude while Rainn Wilson played Walter. Hank Azaria played Donny, Christina Hendricks played Maude, Jason Alexander played Jeffrey Lebowski, Fred Savage played Brandt, Nick Kroll played Jesus and Sam Elliott reprised his movie role as The Stranger.

Jason Reitman, director of “Thank You For Smoking,” “Juno,” “Up In The Air” and “Young Adult,” has been organizing these intriguing movie-script “stage reads” in Los Angeles.
These are one-time deals. They’re impossible to get into.
So far:
1) “The Breakfast Club” (Aaron Paul as Bender!)
2) “The Apartment” (Natalie Portman as Fran!)
3) “The Princess Bride” (Patton Oswalt as Vizzini!)
4) “Shampoo” (Olivia Wilde as Jackie!)
5) “Reservoir Dogs” (Terrence Howard as Vic Vega!)
The sixth and perhaps last of these is “The Big Lebowski.”
Oswalt, Hank Azaria and Nick Kroll will play most of the roles (including the three German nihilists), but Reitman is keeping the casting of The Dude a secret until the curtain goes up one week from tonight. Reitman says he has “the perfect actor” for the Jeff Bridges part of 14 years past.
This isn’t the best in movie, TV, DVD and comic book news, but I thought it might be an interesting thought exercise for talkback.
Assuming it’s not Bridges, who is Reitman’s “perfect” Dude?
Paul Rudd? Zach Galifianakis? Benecio Del Toro?
