A year before she became the first Catwoman on “Batman,” the fabulous Julie Newmar played the AF 709, the Amazonian android title character in “My Living Doll.” Developed by the U.S. Air Force, the AF 709 was left by her traveling creator (one Dr. Carl Miller) in the care of Air Force psychologist Dr. Bob McDonald. Miller charged McDonald with training the hot ‘bot to behave in a more human manner.
The show featured McDonald’s horny neighbor, Peter, who fell in love with the AF 709, unaware that she was actually a soulless automaton.
The CBS series lasted only a single season, crushed in ratings by NBC’s “Bonanza” and “The Virginian” and ABC’s “The Patty Duke Show.”

Only 11 episodes of the series’ 26-episode run are included. The other 15 episodes have been lost, perhaps forever.
