Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. These pics hit over the weekend when WonderCon was in full effect. Not sure why nobody grabbed them, but by God they deserve a spot here on AICN, so let’s do it.
Rian Johnson is smart dude. I read an early draft of Looper and was blown away at how he tapped into the same neo-noir stream that Blade Runner did without going super over the top with the sci-fi. The set up is simple: time travel exists, but is super mega-illegal. And dangerous. Even the bad guys don’t want to accidentally erase themselves, so they only really use it to get rid of evidence… namely people that need to be whacked.
A contact in the “past” arranges for contractors to be in a certain spot at a certain time and pays them well to shoot whatever poor bastard pops up there. If the "past" cops find the body, how do they ID someone who might not even be alive yet?
Things get fucked up when one of these guys, called Loopers, comes face to face with his older self.
Bruce Willis plays the older Joseph Gordon-Levitt. We’ve known that for a while, but one thing that was hidden was that Joe was going to be in make-up so that it would be believable that he’d grow into Bruce Willis.
Out of WonderCon comes our first look at the make-up. I can’t tell you much more than this right now, but I saw the make-up up close and personal and it’s creepy how subtle it is. He looks a little off, but then you see him in profile you kind of do a double take because he has young Bruce Willis’ outline.
So, enjoy your look at Mr. Gordon-Levitt. Then join the rest of us that are counting the days until we can finally watch Looper.

Lookin’ good! Come on September!
