Sigourney Weaver will make her debut as a series TV regular in USA’s “Political Animals.”
Weaver will play a former first lady who makes a unsuccessful bid for the U.S. presidency before she accepts the role of secretary of state.
“Political Animals” is written and produced by Greg Berlanti, the longtime “Dawson’s Creek” showrunner who went on to create the short-lived politically themed “Jack & Bobby” series. He went on to create ABC’s superhero-themed “No Ordinary Family” and scripted “Green Lantern” for the big screen. He’s also overseeing the potential Green Arrow series “Arrow” for the CW.
