Hey folks, Harry here... One of the reasons I became the kinda guy I am. A film geek that goes obsessive compulsive on film projects and what I dream could be upon film is due to my love of Edgar Rice Burroughs' PRINCESS OF MARS through a slate of different titles. Dreaming about this film has been one of those things that for me, when someone would ask, "What do you dream of seeing get made one day?" My answer was JOHN CARTER OF MARS.
This is the first time in history that the answer to that question has changed. I haven't really thought strongly about what that next dream project would be, but for right now - I'm pretty damn happy with the results. I've been tracking this film since I was about 12. Digging for every detail that every geek magazine could give me... and then an internet age worth of news... I was genuinely concerned about this movie before I saw it. But in the end, Andrew Stanton made a damn fine JOHN CARTER.
As a result, I've made sure that we geeks here at AICN that have kind of followed this thing together here at AICN, that we can kind of celebrate that one of the good ones got made.
The Austin Screening will be Wednesday, March 7th at 7:30pm at ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE on South Lamar.
I'm a firm believer in the multi-generational enjoyment level for the character and the film. So I'm going open this up to large groups - because this is one you'll want to see with everyone. So you plus up to 5 additional guests.

BTW... In my interview with Stanton he mentioned that he had to cut the Banths due to a budget issue. However there is a design found in the ART OF JOHN CARTER book that Disney is putting out - and here it is:
