This report came in from a fella by da name of Ethan (Hunt that is) and this wicked dude saw a test screening of LES MISERABLES. I don't know about you, but I'm very interested in seeing this production, I'd heard it was quite lavish, and with that cast. WoW!!! Here is what this member of the Impossible Missions Task Force had to say:
I recently saw a very early cut in NYC of the new Les Miserables film starring Liam Neeson, Uma Thurman, Geoffrey Rush, and Claire Danes. The workprint that I saw at this screening on the tenth of this month was pretty raw (it lacked color-correction, permanent music, and most of the titles) and ran about three hours long. It was pretty good overall and stayed true to the Victor Hugo book. The best part about the film were Neeson and Rush's performances;they were magnificent. Claire was cute yet her performance was nothing special, and neither was Uma's. The settings were pretty and efficient (Prague doubled for Paris) yet nothing amazing. The ending was amazing yet the editing overall was choppy and sloppy, hopefully this will be redeemed before it's release.
