The Complete Indiana Jones Collection Announced For Blu-Ray Release This Fall!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. With Jaws, ET and now the Indiana Jones collection all sporting 2012 Blu-Ray release dates I think we can safely call this the Year of the Beard (High Def Edition).

That’s right, the Complete Indiana Jones Film Collection was officially announced today by Paramount Home Video as being released Fall 2012. Spielberg confirmed Raiders of the Lost Ark was headed to Blu at the Hero Complex screening a few months back, but at that point it was “up to George” when that would actually occur.

I guess George decided now was as good a time as any and we’re getting all three Indiana Jones movies on Blu-Ray. There’s a fourth disc with something about aliens in there, too.

Collider has a trailer for the release which I’ve embedded below.

I gotta say, I love that the focus on the above trailer is with the original films and that Temple of Doom gets so much play in that footage. I’ll forever be a defender of that movie, but you gotta admit love it or hate it, some of the most key Indiana Jones imagery is from that movie. Harrison Ford looks the most Indiana Jonesy in that movie to me.

Here’s the press release:

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (February 29, 2012) – The man with the hat is back – and looking better than ever! The world’s favorite globe-trotting archaeologist is, at long last, embarking on his greatest adventure – when The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Media Distribution. The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection will be excavated in the fall of 2012 and will include all four of Indy’s thrilling adventures, using the highest possible high definition picture and audio presentation – along with a “best of” collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes and a few new surprises.

”A few new surprises” eh? Want. Now!

Amazon has a pre-order page which puts the price tag at $74.99. Dr. Jones is coming in high def! Everybody celebrate!!!
