OLDBOY remake moves forward as Elizabeth Olsen is possibly joining Josh Brolin for Spike Lee!

Hey folks, Harry here...   It's weird, the announcement in Hollywood Reporter about Elizabeth Olsen chatting up joining Josh Brolin for Spike Lee's remake of OLDBOY...  well, it's fascinating.   For one, it's definitely an odd pairing, the age gap alone make it a bit uncomfortable - right?   Like I'm one to talk.   But apparently Olsen is set to play a Caseworker that is helping Brolin try to discover why he was kidnapped and locked away for like 15 years.   She's really good in MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE & not too shabby in SILENT HOUSE either...   and her IMDB page has 6 other film projects at various stages...  it's safe to say she seems to be making a serious run at stardom.

Now - there's no telling how much the story has been changed, Mark Protosevich - a really great screenwriter - whose work rarely seems to make it to the screen nearly as wonderfully as his words hit the page.    But I always root for him.   His original scripts for I AM LEGEND, JOHN CARTER OF MARS & THOR really were excellent.   I am sure he's done a great job with OLDBOY - Spike definitely has strong folks working with him on this.

At the end of the day though, I'm not sure if I am dying for an American OLDBOY.   The Korean original is just one of my faves.
