18-year-old AnnaSophia Robb, who cavorted as bikini-clad shark bait in “Soul Surfer,” will play the title role in The CW’s “The Carrie Diaries,” based on the Candace Bushnell novel about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years in Connecticut.
Bradshaw is the “Sex and the City” character played by Jessica Parker on HBO and in the cinemas.
"Sex and the City" writer Amy Harris, who more recently scripted some "Gossip Girl" episodes, penned the "Carrie Diaries" pilot.
Robb’s other big-screen credits include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” “Jumper” and “Race to Witch Mountain.”
