Fan favorite Giancarlo Esposito, who played meth and chicken titan Gus Fring on “Breaking Bad” and portrays The Mirror on “Once Upon A Time, has landed the lead in the NBC pilot “Revolution.”
Directed by Jon Favreau (The “Iron Man” movies, “Cowboys and Aliens”) the “Revolution” pilot is an action-drama about people struggling to survive and reconnect with loved ones in a world in which all energy has suddenly and mysteriously disappeared.
Esposito will play a military man named Capt. Neville.
The project comes from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production concern (“Alias,” “Lost,” “Fringe,” “Person of Interest,” “Alcatraz”), which in 2010 gave NBC “Undercovers.”
The “Revolution” pilot was written by “Supernatural” mastermind Eric Kripke.
