Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some pretty interesting news. Deadline is reporting that Jonah Hill will once again dip his toe into dramatic waters as the star of TRUE STORY, an adaptation of a memoir by New York Times journalist Michael Finkel.
It sounds insane. Hill would play the reporter who finds out a wanted murderer has been using his identity as he was on the lamb for killing his family. The very next day, he finds himself fired for falsifying a story.
James Franco is also onboard to play Christian Longo, the man on the run, who claims innocence and wants to tell his side of the story... but he'll only tell it to the man whose identity he stole, which puts Finkel in a rather unique position of redemption.
That sounds fascinating to me. The original book is supposed to play a bit like a cat and mouse game between these two men and I can't wait to see Hill and Franco get into that juicy material.
Brad Pitt will produce under his Plan B banner and English theater director Rupert Goold will helm.
