Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein was one of the first and still one of the best horror comedies ever made. I mean, you have Lon Chaney reprising his role as Larry Talbot (The Wolf Man), Bela Lugosi returning as Count Dracula and even have Vincent Price cameo as the voice of The Invisible Man. The only one really missing is Karloff as Frankenstein, but they got Glenn Strange who was the next best thing, having played Frank in two film prior to this one.
The horror pedigree is there, but on top of that you have Abbott and Costello at the height of their comedic powers laying in a genuinely funny movie for these famous movie monsters to play around in.
Today we have a shot of Lou Costello and Lon Chaney sharing a laugh between takes. I love this shot, I love these two men and I love this movie. I’m so full of love today it’s not even funny!
