What can I say about this midnight flick? Snow Fox was right. I mean, this is your worst nightmare- being immersed into the abyss of "neverwhere" where you don't have memory of how you got there and you can't get out until you figure out in order to survive. It closely resembles the theme of "Twlight Zone" but more like the hallegranic (sp?) episode from "Tales from the Dark Side". It's a real claustrophobic tour-de-force of an unusual horror flick with the sci-fi edge. (KINDA SPOILER) The opening sequence begins with the prisoner who looks like he came from the cast of "Alien 3" and in the next scene the misstep resulted into being dicey in an astonishing but obviously computer-generated gory detail. I never expected this to be this REALLY gory in a very innovative way. The prisoners struggle to get through the deadly booby traps in the mind-bending puzzle to the end with REALLY nail-biting suspense, and figure who will survive or not. Into 30 minutes of this movie, AT LEAST 4 people left after the second or third gore scene in which hydrochrolic acids burned the man's face, boring a huge hole with incredibly disgusting details and NEVER CAME BACK. Perhaps they couldn't stand the sick gory violence and perhaps no doubt the MPAA will deny "Cube" the approval rating unless these scenes were omitted in minor details if Trimark plans to release this movie. Nevertheless, it's real chillingly good and definitely not for the faint of heart or squeamish.
