Speculating about Spielberg's next project... everyone was wrong... here it is straight from Professor Xavier himself to Father Geek...
Hey Father Geek,
Today, one of the most respectable newspapers in Brazil, Folha de São Paulo, noticed that Spielberg will be here in our country in May to produce a new documentary about the most famous sport in the world: soccer game.
"Joy" (working title) is scheduled to open during the 2002 World Cup and will show the power and influence of soccer worldwide. The budget is around US$16 millions. Like others "World Cup Movies", this one could hit the theaters by the tournament. Unfortunatly, the director is going to co-produce the new project and Elizabeth McIntyre (The Lost Children of Berlin) will direct it. Before that though, he will have a dinner with our President, Mr. Cardoso. More information soon.
Cya,
Professor Xavier
