The current season is the last for “House.”
Fox confirmed Wednesday it’s pulling the plug on the medical hourlong once it completes its eighth season this May.
It pulled a 2.5 in adults 18-49 on Monday. Its two other 2012 episodes hit a 2.9 and a 3.1.
New-episode ratings for "House" this season (older scores in parentheses):
2.5 (2.9) (3.1) (2.6) (2.5) (2.5) (2.8) (2.5) (3.1) (2.7) (3.9)
This reminds me of what happened with “24,” which was getting decent ratings in its eighth season when Fox decided to cancel it two years ago.
"House" apparently grew too expensive.
Fox's expensive "Terra Nova," with far worse ratings for its last five airings, remains likely to get a second season.
New-episode ratings for "Terra Nova" this season:
2.2 (2.1) (2.2) (2.1) (2.3) (2.6) (2.1) (2.8) (2.5) (3.1) (3.1)
