As you've probably noticed, we're really big fans of COUGAR TOWN here at AICN. Yes, many of us are friends with the show's co-creator Kevin Biegel, but, like the legion of television critics who are not friends of Kevin Biegel's, we also happen to really love the show. If only ABC felt the same way.
Since the network that recently insulted your intelligence with the swiftly-cancelled WORK IT seems to have little interest in promoting one of its best (and not exactly unpopular) shows, Biegel and his COUGAR TOWN-creatin' buddy Bill Lawrence are asking for your help in marketing the endangered comedy at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. And if you come through, there's a walk-on role in a future episode of COUGAR TOWN waiting for you.
So if you'd like to be the envy of COMMUNITY's Abed, here's what you need to do: bring a sign that says "Cougar Town returns to ABC Feb. 14, 8:30 PM", and get it on the air at some point during NBC's broadcast. Pre- and postgame appearances count! And if you somehow get kicked out of the Super Bowl in performing this task, you'll receive a walk-on, a line, a paid flight out to L.A. and a hotel room (because they will feel awful).
So what say you, Super Bowl XLVI attendees? Want to help save one of the funniest, most big-hearted shows on TV? Well... you know what to do. Just please don't hijack the Goodyear blimp. Bruce Dern tried that already, and it didn't go so well.
If you're not caught up on COUGAR TOWN's first two seasons, do somethin' about that. And it goes without saying that you really need to watch the show when the third season begins on February 14th.
