Even though the EXPENDABLES sequel will be pussyfied down to a PG-13 rating (details HERE), there's evidence that a few other high profile follow-ups may actually head the other direction.
A while back came news that Vin Diesel fought the good fight, and sacrificed a bit, to bring us the forthcoming R-rated RIDDICK sequel. We recently learned that the new continuation(?) of THE LAST EXORCISM will move away from the first installment's PG-13 rating into firm 'R' territory (details HERE). And now now it sounds like The Powers That Be behind a fifth TERMINATOR film are determined to shift that project towards an 'R' rating as well.
In a recent Tweet exchange with T5 rights holder Megan Ellison (who's kinda cute, by the way), TheTerminatorFans prodded her regarding whether T5 would be consigned to PG-13 "hell." Her reply:
@meganeellison: We can't really tell you guys anything about Terminator BUT it will be an R rated film as God and James Cameron intended.
All films in the TERMINATOR bigscreen franchise have been rated 'R,' except for McG's 2009 TERMINATOR SALVATION. While the softer rating certainly didn't he;p matters there, PG-13 was the last of that film's problems...
