Castrato takes a brief look at Dreamworks' ROADTRIP starring Tom Green

HEy folks, Harry here. Well, it seems that our spy here got an advance peek at this May 19th comedy from Dreamworks, which has what seems is a brief appearance by Tom Green. Yeah... that guy. Besides that, it stars Andy Dick, Fred Ward and a few others. The Film doesn't really sound like my bag, but perhaps it's yours... Here...

Just saw the sneak for Dreamwork's ROAD TRIP, the new Ivan Reitman film featuring Tom Green, at the La Canada, California UA Theater last Saturday night. Reitman was actually on-site, though keeping a low profile, as were most of the production team.

It was a rough cut screening. The music wasn't locked and post wasn't completed. Nevertheless, this movie was funnier than shit! I wasn't asked to stay behind for the "focus group," but I wouldn't be surprised (given the audience's reaction) if it didn't score some serious numbers.

Tom Green isn't in a lot of the movie, but when he is, he's great. I was only sorry that he didn't accompany the other four students on the "road trip," opting instead to stay behind to feed a mouse a friend's pet snake, but he handled the wrap-around narrative, which made up a bit for his absence in the main story.

The other guys in the movie were relative unknowns, but they handled their roles well. You can see the opening set-up coming a mile away, but in this case, it's okay.

For a "rough cut," this thing had me and everybody else laughing. Either it's damn funny, or they were pumping nitris oxide into the theater.

Definitely worth seeing.

sign it "Castrato."
