Nordling here.
I'm still feelng a bit overwhelmed from BNAT last weekend, so this is a bit late, but this wekend's Graveyard Shift at the Houston Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks is definitely worth your time. Remember the Peter Jackson that made BAD TASTE and MEET THE FEEBLES? Nothing wrong with the LOTR Peter Jackson, of course, but this weekend we're celebrating his forays into horror with a double feature of DEAD ALIVE and THE FRIGHTENERS. DEAD ALIVE will be in 35mm, and THE FRIGHTENERS will be the director's cut. You can buy tickets here at the Alamo Drafthouse website. We start at 8:00 PM, we'll have games, prizes, and Rotten Cotton will be debuting a new FRIGHTENERS T-shirt. Here's what it looks like:
Awesome, right? And if you buy tickets now until 1 PM tomorrow, TICKETS ARE ONLY $6. Half off. Two great movies, fun and games, and $6 is all you pay. You know you want to go. And that's not all.
This Sunday, starting at 5:00 PM, at the Houston Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks, we're screening the Tim Burton Batman films back to back. The Dynamic Duos is a new film series with the Alamo Drafthouse, 8th Dimension Comics and Games, and Ain't It Cool News. This summer's going to have some amazing things happening with this particular series, and stay tuned for a ver special Marvel event in January that I'll be writing about shortly. It's pretty huge. But if you want to go to Sunday's Batfest, buy your tickets here at the link. And, until 1 PM tomorrow, tickets are also only $6! So buy quickly because both of these events will fill up quick.
We're also continuing the Dynamic Debates, where two people debate the most important issues of comicdom. This week, we're debating the age old question: SHOULD BATMAN KILL THE JOKER? Click on this link and you could win free tickets, drinks and a meal for Sunday night. Act fast!
After 1 PM tomorrow, these tickets go back to regular prices, so act fast! I've never seen DEAD ALIVE on the big screen, and I can't wait to experience those Sumatran rats again. Come kick ass for the Lord - or for Gotham City - this weekend!
Nordling, out.
