Writer-director Eli Roth (the “Hostel” franchise) is expected to direct and executive produce “Hemlock Grove,” based on the 2012 novel by Brian McGreevy., McGreevy will write the project’s pilot with Lee Shipman.
Netflix is close to ordering 13 episodes, according to a Deadline Hollywood exclusive.
The novel follows the son of biotech zillionaire who finds himself teaming with a poor gypsy kid. The two young men are out to solve the mystery of a girl found mangled and murdered near an abandoned Pennsylvania steel mill.
