Funny thing about reality shows: It’s tricky to reassemble the casts of scripted shows for sequel series, but it never seems too hard to do the same for reality shows. You never know when somebody’s going to drag “Last Comic Standing” or “The Mole” or “Temptation Island” back into the daylight.
“Fear Factor” is unusual because it comes back tonight after half a decade with the same host, “NewsRadio” vet Joe Rogan.
Writer-director-actor Mike White’s mesmerizing Laura Dern sitcom “Enlightened” airs its finale on HBO tonight.
With two episodes left, I continue to watch Fox’s dopey “Terra Nova” to see if its writers have a way to make it make sense. If Taylor opposes siphoning the natural resources of the dinosaur era into the future, why did The Powers Than Be send him to be absolute dictator of Terra Nova in the first place? And why do The Powers That Be want to strip-mine the past when it makes much more sense to simply transport everybody back into the past? And why is Taylor allowed to remain dictator even after he makes all these controversial decisions?
Given that “Terra Nova” is super-expensive and one of Fox’s lowest-rated scripted series, I’d be surprised if the network ordered a second season. But Fox has surprised me before with renewals for “Dollhouse” and “Fringe.”
