I'm a big Neil Marshall fan. There's something about his movies that I take to - they're undeniably pulp but they're GREAT pulp and he doesn't repeat himself. I think DOG SOLDIERS is a wonderful werewolf movie, and THE DESCENT is great - when I first saw it at BNAT my best friend screamed and freaked out at the final shot, so invested in the movie was he - and CENTURION was a great meat-and-potatoes Roman legion movie. Loved it.
Now, Marshall is in talks to direct HELLFEST for CBS Films. HELLFEST deals with a serial killer who goes after people going to an amusement park on Halloween night. That sounds straight-up early Carpenter if you ask me, and Neil Marshall definitely comes from that school of filmmaking. I hope he signs on because we need another great slasher franchise,
