THOR Sequel Loses Its Director!!

Merrick here...

MONSTER's Patty Jenkins, an unexpected and interesting choice as director of THOR 2, has left the sequel de to "creative differences."  Jenkins tells The Hollywood Reporter"I have had a great time working at Marvel...We parted on very good terms, and I look forward to working with them again."

Seems Jenkins has wanted to helm a superhero film for some time, so I wouldn't be surprised to find her attached to another such project in the future.  In the meantime, The Powers That be are looking for someone to guide the next installment of their hammer-welding hero franchise, which'll return Chris Hemsworth to the title role.  The first movie nabbed over $448 million globally.

'Round the time of THOR's release, production team members hinted to Harry that a sequel could take place exclusively on/around Asgard - a promising and compelling proposition given that the weakest elements of the progenitor picture were its Earth-set sequences.  Hopefully these early musings will pan out.  Or, with any luck, perhaps the Earth component of THOR 2 will at least be be greatly reduced in favor of the more interesting and spectacular settings the mythos' overall premise inherently affords.
