Kevin Costner in talks for PEARL HARBOR'

Hey folks, Harry here. The following should be considered as being rumor until otherwise clarified. I do know that some of this... specifically the bits about the Doolittle Raid and the ships that Michael was looking over are true... But we'll have to wait and see on the rest. Here ya go...

Harry,

I run a Pearl Harbor Movie fansite (http://www.cinemenium.com/pearlharbor) and I got a bit of info on the upcoming Michael Bay film, Pearl Harbor. I don't know if you want to post this up, but hopefully you do. Here is a description that u can easily paste onto your news update page.

By now, we've all heard of Michael Bay's upcoming mega epic, Pearl Harbor. What is making this film interesting right at the start is the fact that the production didn't have any money left over (75% spent on pyrotechnics and SFX) to hire A-list stars to play parts in the film, yet people like Kevin Costner, Brad Pitt, Cuba Gooding Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Gene Hackman are willing to take a paycut and star in a film that Costner has quoted, "a film that will definitely stand the test of time." Studio officials have been mum about casting though, but Bay has said he would like Wes Bentley (American Beauty), and Jim Caviezel(The Thin Red Line). Among others mentioned as possible cast: Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan), Keri Russell, and Scott Speedman (both of 'Felicity').

It is also reported that the famous 'Doolittle Tokyo raid' will be included in the movie as the film's final climax. A Honolulu paper (The Honolulu Advertiser) in Hawaii is whispering that Kevin Costner is interested in playing Jimmy Doolittle's part in the film and also reports that the film's musical score and theme song will be composed by Diane Warren, whose "Music of My Heart" is a Grammy nominee this year. In 1977, her "Because You Loved Me" from the movie, "Up Close and Personal" earned a Grammy; she also wrote "Armageddon" and "Con Air" music.

In other news, a few veterans who take pride in restoring vintage planes from World WarII have reported that several of their Japanese replica planes have been shipped out to Hawaii last week in preparation of the big Pearl Harbor attack that will go underway this April as principle photography starts as well as news that Michael Bay has recently visited several World WarII ships in Texas, most notably the Battleship Texas and the Lexington aircraft carrier located at Corpus Christi, Texas which he is planning to use as Second Unit photography.

Harry, I've included an image of the Costner/Doolittle crossover that I think would help the readers see the similiarities. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!
