Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
Nope, this isn’t Wrath of Khan, but good guess. Nope, this is the original tale of obsession. Sure, men (and women) destroying themselves with their obsessions existed before Herman Melville put ink to paper, but it’s Ahab and his suicidal hunt for his white whale that laid the template we have seen repeated to great success.
Without Moby Dick we wouldn’t have Wrath of Khan; without Ahab there wouldn’t be a Quint in Jaws. There’s something about borderline crazy badasses that is fascinating to watch and Gregory Peck’s turn as Ahab in 1956’s film adaptation of Melville’s famous book is one for the record books.
Thanks to reader Bert Biermans we have a great little shot of Peck’s final moments as Ahab, bound to the great white whale! Enjoy!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s pic is a son of a bi-ayayaya.
