We often take Aardman Studios for granted. We need to stop doing that.
I saw ARTHUR CHRISTMAS last night, and think it's the smartest and most inventive animated film of the year. And now the studio that gave us the Wallace & Gromit series is delving back into stop-motion animation with THE PIRATES! BAND OF MISFITS! Is it a bit calculating to make an animated pirate film in the billion-dollar wake of Disney's PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise? I guess so. Does Aardman's film look a billion times more entertaining than the last three POTC movies? Absolutely. Check out the latest trailer...
