"Mad Men" mastermind Matt Weiner tells “Curb Your Enthusiasm” player Jeff Garlin (as related by grantland.com):
"What I’m looking for, and how I hope to end the show, is like … It’s 2011. Don Draper would be 84 right now. I want to leave the show in a place where you have an idea of what it meant and how it’s related to you."
That kind of fits with a series that has jumped huge hunks of time between seasons. Will Don just keel over like Michael Corelone at the end of “Godfather III”? Will it be more like the end of “A League of Their Own,” with Don accepting a Lifetime Achievement Clio as Sally, Bobby and Eugene look on? Will Don reunite with Peggy, Joan, Betty and Roger at a giant cast party in the sky? Will Dick Whitman discover he’s actually been asleep on a spaceship headed for the planet Draper?
