AMC says of tonight’s “Walking Dead,” titled “Cherokee Rose”:
Shane makes a deadly sacrifice which leads to unusual behavior and self-distancing. The rest of the group tries to hang on somewhere between living to die and dying to live.

* Despite AMC’s logline and clip, this is the most Glenn-centric episode in the series’ history. Steve Yuen finally gets a lot to do and proves himself highly capable.
* This is also a big episode for a new character, the farmer’s daughter Maggie (Lauren Cohan), whom Glenn would very much like to bone.
* If you watched last week’s “Talking Dead” you know the gang goes to considerable effort to extract a grotesque, waterlogged zombie from a well. Glenn is employed as live bait in the effort.
* Greg Nicotero, who’s been doing makeup effects dating back to George Romero’s “Day of the Dead” way back in 1985, really outdoes himself with the well zombie.
