NBC’s strategy of flooding primetime with “Prime Suspect” repeats last week proved unfruitful. Thursday’s new episode of Maria Bello’s cop drama hit a personal low and overtook “Harry’s Law” as the lowest-rated scripted drama on the network.
The crappy ratings for “Dateline” demonstrate why “Rock Center With Brian Williams,” debuting Halloween, got a multi-year order. Nobody can be bothered to cancel primetime news shows, which represent a cheap way to plug holes in primetime.

“Pan Am” and “Body of Proof” remain locked in a death-battle for lowest-rated scripted ABC hourlong.
Why does Christopher Moynihan keep getting hired to create horrible sitcoms? “Man Up!” which got some of the worst reviews of the season, looks ready to join NBC’s unwatchable “100 Questions” in the laughtrack scrap pile.
Yikes! A fricking repeat of “Modern Family” beat everything else on ABC. People like that show!
“Once Upon A Time” got off to a great start, but so did a lot of ABC genre shows that didn't last long (“V” and “FlashForward” lurch to mind).

“The Good Wife” and “CSI Miami” both hit season lows against the World Series last weekend, while “Amazing Race” did just fine. I’ll bet anyone $10 “Wife” or “Miami” or both will be gone by next season. (“Good Wife” is that rare CBS hourlong that pulls “best drama” nominations, so we’ll see if that helps.)

“Beavis and Butt-head” returned after a 14-year absence to overtake 14-year-old “South Park” as cable’s highest rated comedy. “Boardwalk Empire,” the highest-rating thing on pay cable at the moment, got its third season last week. “Sons of Anarchy,” to the surprise of no one, just was renewed for next year. I imagine FX’s “American Horror Story,” which just hit a personal high, will be back next fall as well.
