Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
More Cronenberg! And this time from one of personal favorite films of his: The Dead Zone. Oh, boy, do I love The Dead Zone. It’s a great novel by Stephen King and the movie is a lateral pass. Incredibly faithful to the source material, but given a whirl by a very hungry and talented director and anchored by two amazing, iconic performances.
Christopher Walken is great as Johnny Smith, the coma patient who awakens with psychic abilities, which he has to grapple with while also trying to rebuild his life. And then there’s Martin Sheen. The West Wing is great and yadda-yadda-yadda, but if you really want to hook me his presidential character would have been more like Greg Stillson in this movie. Holy shit, can you imagine a TV show based around a lunatic "put your hand on the goddamn screen!" president? All kinds of awesome.
Today’s shot from The Dead Zone is great, but needs to be embiggened to really appreciate it. From a great scene and a great shot. Hope you enjoy!!
