Nordling here.
Now this is definitely cool news, for those of us who watched Emily grown into her own as a filmmaker. Sigh, we knew her when she was young...
I reviewed MY SUCKY TEEN ROMANCE at SXSW, and I've known Emily and her family for years. Harry helped cultivate her love of movies, starting way back in 2003 when a young Emily and her mom Megan went to BNAT and basked in the awesome. But one movie in particular, the Spierig Brothers' UNDEAD, sparked something in Emily, and so she made her first film, PATHOGEN, when she was only 12 years old.
Emily's grown up since then, and now her film, MY SUCKY TEEN ROMANCE, has just been bought by MPI Media Group, according to Bloody-Disgusting. Emily's like family to us here at AICN, and we're so very happy for her. This insures that she'll go on to have a hopefully long career in film. Congratulations to her, her family, producer Paul Gandersman, and so many others.
If you want to learn more about Emily Hagins and her filmmaking, check out Zombie Girl on Netflix Instant. So very proud of her and all she's done. Congratulations!
Nordling, out.
