Hey folks, Harry here with more on Danny Boyle.... a project called THE WATERBABIES for Jake Scott and a go date for Gilliam's latest...
DETH here. It's been a while.
I read your article about Danny Boyle doing a Manchester Music Scene movie next with interest. I could be wrong but there is a script going around in London co-penned by walking epitome of "Madchester" Shaun Ryder. Sean as you know was the lead singer of The Happy Mondays and now sings for Black Grape. If anyone knows all about the heady days of Manchester circa The Stone Roses etc. it is Sean. If this is the project Boyle was mentioning we could have a cracker on our hands.
I also happen to know that there is talk of a new version of that timeless classic THE WATERBABIES. Jake Scott (son of Ridley) is attached to direct with Small Soldiers and The Borrowers scribe Gavin Scott (no relation) writing the script. It is very early days on this one but allegedly the story will be relocated to the sewers of New York.
And finally the long in the offing THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE looks set to go in June. You heard it here first.
Later.
DETH.
