HEy gore hounds and houndettes, seems that the director of URBAN LEGEND with be serving your marinara sauce-drenched undeads with a shotgun blast squib or two on the side. Just a note on the URBAN LEGEND 2 script... Word has it that when John Ottman signed aboard as director, there were major rewrites to URBAN LEGEND 2.... I'm not saying it'll be good... haven't read the draft... only saying that the script has allegedly changed greatly since Jamie Blanks last saw it. Here's the report from the land down under....

First time poster, long time reader here. I'm a film student in Australia and this week Jamie Blanks, director of URBAN LEGEND, came to our campus to give a guest lecture as he is an ex-student. Firstly I must say that he was a really pleasant, funny and enthusiastic guy. He talked about the trial and tribulations of working on UL as that was his first feature and then went on to talk about a couple of things that I am sure you guys might be interested in. He even plugged your site too!
Looks like he is lined up to direct RESIDENT EVIL and he briefly brushed on the plot. It's set in the not so distant future where all viruses and life threatening diseases ie cancer and Aids now are curable. However along comes a megalomaniacal evil corporation that invents an incurable disease and starts testing it out on some human specimens hoping to later infect the world so that the infected cough up their hard earned for a vaccine.
Well the evil plan spirals out of control and lots of innocents get badly infected becoming Romero-esque zombies. There ya have it. He did mention some old news that Romero's script was rejected.
Blanks passed on the URBAN LEGEND 2 script as it was supposedly atrocious. Apparently it's set on a film school campus and the principle lecturer goes around hacking and slashing his student and then using their films (changing the credits so that he is billed as director) to win film festivals!! Sounds totally retarded but should be a good laugh.
Anyway, hope this news is interesting to some.
