Hey folks, Harry here... Now before you start getting all excited... this is 'THE NEW YORK POST' they're the same rag that reported that Ebert hated me after my first show and ran a hackjob story about me, that well... 4 Appearances on Ebert later... If only everyone hated me as much as Roger. However, there really is a Warner Book by Henry Hill's son... and who knows... perhaps if Scorsese can't get GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE BETTY PAGE STORY or DINO off the ground... Perhaps he'll make this film. Personally, I hope he moves on to other material... If I want to see excellent suburban Gangster stories.. I'll tune into HBO's fantastic SOPRANOS
Harry,
I'm not sure if this is news to you or not, but Wednesday's New York Post is reporting Scorsese is set to be executive producer and POSSIBLY director of a sequel to "Goodfellas."
The sequel will focus on the story of Henry Hill's kids and their experiences growing up in the witness-protection program. The movie will be based on an untitled memoir to be penned by Henry's son and daughter, who just signed a publishing deal with Warner Books for $900,000.
Lorraine Bracco has already signed on to reprise her role as Karen, but it isn't clear whether or not other cast members are in.
A Disney source is quoted as saying, "I wouldn't be surprised if Bobby (De Niro) and Joe (Pesci) were involved, because Marty is doing it and they have great respect fo him." The source also added that Scorsese's chances of directing are "50-50."
The screenplay is being written by Angelo Pizzo and co-executive produced by Nicholas (Wiseguy, Casino) Pileggi.
Hope this was of some use to you.
