Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!
There’s been a lack of Truffaut here, so I’m going to make up for it by posting the most French picture of the most French director ever, from the set of his adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s brilliant Fahrenheit 451.
I’m such a fanboy for Bradbury’s book, which along with William Goldman’s Lord of the Flies really shaped my appreciation of literature in my younger days, that I can’t help but have some nitpicks with Truffaut’s choices in the movie, but I still find it a fascinating interpretation. That said, I’d love to have seen Frank Darabont get his version off the ground, complete with a mechanical hound.
At any rate, here’s Truffaut having wine (or maybe Champagne) with Julie Christie on the set. I told you it was a very French picture! Thanks to Adventures in European Filmmaking, the blog where this (and a few future BTS pics of the day) was posted. Enjoy!
If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.
Tomorrow’s pic is lookin’ at you.
