I said The Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day’d be back.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!

While a fun amusement park ride (literally), I gotta be honest and say I’m not the biggest fan of T2 3-D: Battle Across Time. I mean, it’s cool to see Schwarzenegger, Furlong and Hamilton back as their characters, the ride itself is fun and I dig the way they integrate the onscreen 3-D elements with real live actors in costume running around on the stage and into the audience… but the thing gets really goofy. Schwarzenegger talks about a busted up endoskeleton being his college roommate.

Sure, it’s a Universal Studios ride, not a movie, but it’s still disappointing to me that it got so tongue-in-cheek. But hey, it’s still miles better than Terminator 3 (I know that movie has its defenders, don’t mean to cause a fight, but it really is a pile of dung… with a good ending, granted, but a pile of dung nonetheless)!

T2-3D was Cameron’s first time playing with 3D, which he would later champion in its digital form and the 3D is impressive if you’ve ever seen this show. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I like film-shot 3D so much more than digital 3D, which is very sharp and less head-achy, but the 3D looked more attached to the overall image for whatever reason to me in these good polarized film-shot 3D flicks from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Friday the the 13th Part 3 and Jaws 3-D look amazing still to this day if you’re lucky enough to see a good 35mm projection of them.

So, here’s Cameron and Arnie (being very Shakespearean) on the set of T2-3D! Enjoy the pic and click to embiggen!
