Hey there folks, Harry here with a report from Hix, one of the extras working on the latest Schumacher film. Personally, I've been fascinated at the turn that Schumacher has taken after BATMAN AND ROBIN. And you have to admit, there's been a change. He's been striving for far more artistic and challenging films, with a quite a lot of personal involvement. This latest film, Schumacher went against the studio to cast a complete unknown as his lead, when he had a couple of major actors vying for the part. This isn't the same Schumacher that orchestrated BATMAN AND ROBIN... And personally I wish him the best of luck. Hell, Lucas was responsible for HOWARD THE DUCK, Spielberg for HOOK... While I don't think Joel is George Lucas or Steven Spielberg... I do feel that he has talent... I'm just glad to see him trying to make films that aren't run by a corporation.
Hey, whats up. First things first I love the site and check it out all the time. Here is the deal, if any one still cares what Joel Schumacher does he is about to begin filming a movie called Tigerland. It takes place in 1971 and follows several young men as they are being drafted and going thrue bootcamp. All of the boot camp sceenes are being filmed at Camp Blanding, where G.I. Jane was filmed. Camp Blanding is just south of Jacksonville Florida, there was recently a open casting call for extras, and Joel Schumacher has appeared on local news channels. ( I went to an open casting call and went over pretty good with the casting agent and was called back to meet Mr. Schumacher, first I wanted to slap him for those lame ass Batman movies. But he was really nice and I was cast as one of the drafted bootcampers. Being a life long fanboy on our next meeting I will be sure to bring up the subject of the rumored Batman Year One project. And let you know what he says about it)
Later, Hix
