So far our Graveyard Shift screenings at the Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks have been wildly successful, and the audience has had a lot of fun with it. THE FLY is such a great film, and seeing it with a primed audience was fantastic.
This month, we're playing Graveyard Shift a little bit early. On Saturday, August 13th, a full moon is rising, and to celebrate we're dropping our first double feature of two of the best horror films of the 1980s. First up is John Landis's undisputed classic werewolf film, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. And then we're playing Tom Holland's original FRIGHT NIGHT. As the remake opens the following weekend, come see the original the way it was meant to be seen.
As usual. we'll be having giveaways and contests at the event. We're going to have a vampire staking contest - if you're ready to bury that lame Edward chick now's your chance! Everyone gets Moon Pies and vampire teeth, Rotton Cotton will be giving away FRIGHT NIGHT and AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON T-shirts, we're giving away a FEARnet gift bag (last month's had the ALIEN Quadrilogy in it! Who knows what will be in this month's bag), an original vinyl record single from the FRIGHT NIGHT soundtrack, I'm giving away a Three Wolf Moon T-shirt (if you don't know what that is, check out the comments section at this Amazon link and laugh your ass off), and we're even giving away a signed lithograph from Bernie Wrightson! And more stuff that I can't talk about yet! I can't promise a naked man will steal your balloon, but we're planning all sorts of debauchery along those lines.
