Hey folks, Harry here with another update of info from FANGO con up in New York this past weekend.... Digest and enjoy my fellow gore hounds...
I was at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in New York city this weekend. Writer/Director Robert A. Masciantonio, COLD HEARTS, announced that he has scrapped his haunted house project "That Spooky Place" over too many differences in opinion on where the script should go. He also announced that he was trying to woo Moustapha Akkad's office with a "Halloween 8" spec script that he penned. A few people asked about the COLD HEARTS sequel and Robert said that one was written (called "Kindred Spirits) but he hasn't approached any one to make it yet. The project he is really trying to get off the ground is called "On Angels Wings" and apparently people at Dimension are considering it. The script was described as having a Batman:Year One and The Crow feel. It sounded very interesting.
The crowd went crazy when Robert mentioned Tom Savini (Tom helmed the effects for his film) and his support from Savini directing "Jason X". Robert also mentioned that there were a few projects of his that Tom is attached to, including "On Angels Wings".
Another huge response came when Robert announced that he has written a hydrid sequel for "The Lost Boys". His "Lost Boys 2" takes elements from COLD HEARTS and puts them together with the original Lost Boys characters (although he said that the audience never has to have seen CH to understand what is going on). It sounded very interesting.
Robert showed both the trailer and a clip from COLD HEARTS. The movie looks really good. There are definitely traces of the "Lost Boys" thrown into his vampire movie. Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on the copies he was selling but it should be at video stores. Worth checking out.
Thank you for your time.
