Actor allegedly wants to play Aragorn
Well this is a bit odd, you see the following bit of spy info doesn't say that the actor is in negotiations, or even up for the role, but apparently the actor and his agents want the part. (hmmmmm, who wouldn't want to play Aragorn?) So anyway this came from Smaug...
British TV heartthrob Sean Bean is ready and more than willing to play Aragorn - aka Strider - in a movie version of the classic novel.
His agent told me that it was "the ideal part" for their client.
During a discussion about Lord of the Rings, she said: " This is the type of role we're looking at for Sean. We're very pleased he's been linked to the film."
Bean, who shot to fame in the UK in ITV drama 'Sharpe', would like to star in the proposed movie.
His representatives believe Lord of the Rings would fit in with his on-screen image of a "swashbuckling hero."
The Sheffield-born actor impressed movie bosses with his performances as rogue agent 006 in 'Goldeneye.'
And it looks like Lord of the Rings could be next on his shooting slate after finishes work on spy thriller 'Ronin' with Robert De Niro.
As, for the rumours on Sean Connery as Gandalf ... Sorry, Harry, it's a case of don't believe everything you read.
Connery could be perfect as the Grey Wizard. But there has been no formal offer to him - nor have any preliminary discussions taken place.
