Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Like most geeks I know Keith Gordon mostly as an actor, from his work in John Carpenter's Christine, Jaws 2 and Back to School, but I was aware he had moved behind the camera later in his career, writing and directing a WW2 flick called A Midnight Clear and more recently directing Robert Downey Jr. in The Singing Detective and a ton of Dexter episodes.
I like the guy and it seems like he's been on cusp of really breaking through as a director for two decades... now he's got his big shot, if Mike Fleming at Deadline's sources are as on-point as they usually are.
Apparently Christopher Nolan's company, Syncopy, is setting up a supernatural thriller project at Warner Bros with Gordon set to write and direct. Fleming knows the project is a book adaptation, but doesn't know which one.
With all the scrutiny on the project now I'm sure we'll find out sooner than later what the property is, but all I gotta say is Gordon's a solid writer/director and Nolan's got a great eye for material, so whatever it is I'm sure we'll all be happy cinephiles.
Thoughts?
