Alright... it's not a movie (yet) but just a sequel to the original book that became the movie that sooo many love. I figured before too many people ask, I'd answer here. No, I haven't heard of a film in development. No, I haven't heard if the rights to the book (not yet finished) have been acquired. BUT... I'll say this. If movies like LORD OF THE RINGS, DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS, GLADIATOR, THE GATES OF FIRE and EVERQUEST succeed... then someone... hell, even if it begins to look very likely that these films will make financial dents in the universe of celluloid... then perhaps the property might be acquired. The video has done... VERY WELL, and has quite a known fanbase. But don't hold your breath for this one folks. If anything ever develops on this one... I'll let ya know.
Harry:
I apologize if this is old news, but today I discovered that Random House is planning a sequel to "The Princess Bride" (titled "Buttercup's Baby") written by original author Bill Goldman.
No rumor. In fact, the 25th Anniversary Edition of "Bride" includes a teaser of the new book. Therefore, my question to you is have you (or any of your contacts) heard news of film right sales? Perhaps to a certain Rob Reiner?
Regards,
Pietro
